During the Great Depression of the 1930s, Lee Douglas sets out not only to find work but to find something more, something that could change his life forever. 

 

Traveling to California alone, he is thrown together with diverse characters who collectively teach him the true story of life’s purpose and meaning.  As he finds work, he sends money home to his sister, Jenny, in Caddo Gap, Arkansas. 

 

Through the long journey to California, narrow escapes, and undaunted perseverance, Lee learns the true history of time.  When a mine shaft caves in on Lee, he is faced with all he has discovered, resulting in a deeper understanding of how scripture and science work hand in hand.
